Graeme Ruthven Trophy
Graeme Ruthven (April 16, 1978 - June 8, 1998) was a true house league player: no scoring championships, and not a perennial select hockey player, but a committed young man who never complained about attending practice or games for his Blessed Trinity house league teams.

Graeme graduated from St. Michael's College School in June 1997, and then completed a year of computer science studies at St. Jerome's College at the University of Waterloo in May 1998. His life was cut short at the age of 20, as a result of a small plane crash while he completed training for his private pilot's license out of Buttonville Airport.

Graeme was always available to us at the North York Knights Hockey League. Besides being a player, he was a timekeeper and he was a referee. He was always willing to help out.

The Ruthven family wishes to have Graeme's memory honoured at the end of each season by presenting his trophy.

Each year, a house league player in his or her last year of high school is awarded the Graeme Ruthven trophy based on the many characteristics of commitment displayed during his or her own hockey career with the North York Knights.
