David Tysall Award
This award was created in 2007 in honour of David Tysall who died in early 2007 from cancer.  David was 20 years of age and had spent his hockey career in the Knights houseleague organization playing for St. Margarets.  David volunteered his time Saturday mornings to help with the 'learn to play' classes not just to earn required high school community service hours but because he truly enjoyed working with and helping the "little" kids.  He never once complained about being up and out the door early on a Saturday morning to attend to the kids at York Mills Arena, which is something to be said for an active male teenager.

The David Tysall Volunteer Award is given to an individual within the Knights program who generously and usually without asking, donates unlimited hours to contribute to the ongoing success of the North York Knights Hockey Association.
