| St Michaels College Arena Learn
to Play |
|
|
|
|
|
As a result of Knights absorbing the former Blessed
Sacrament Hockey Association learn to play program at St
Mikes Arena, Knights now offers two complimentary LTP
programs. The first continues to be the program run in
the past by the Knights and described on our website and
the second is a program run at historic St Michaels
College Arena (Bathurst and St Clair). |

REGISTRATION INFORMATION (updated June 1st) |
|
|
|
Each program shares the same base philosophy of quality
introductory skating and hockey instruction in a fun,
supportive and nurturing environment and will over time
through integration become similar programs. The fees
for the current St Mikes program are currently higher
for the following reasons: |
|
|
| 1. |
|
The program at St. Mikes Arena is
uniquely run by an experienced coaching staff, all
advanced certified by Hockey Canada and certified
as trainers. These coaches have been coaching
learn to play and advanced ages together through
to midget level for over ten years and have
established a strong continuity of drills and
progressions as the children move from level to
level (coach to coach) and year to year in
preparation for house league and select hockey. |
| |
|
|
| 2. |
|
The St Mikes program is run from
September to April and is tightly structured on a
skills peer basis after several weeks of careful
skills assessment thus enabling the children to
advance over the course of the year through pre-
determined progressions moving quickly from basic
skating to hockey skills to hockey games, making
them competitive for house league and select in
their tyke and minor novice years. |
| |
|
|
| 3. |
|
St Mikes Arena is a private arena
at a higher cost but with a larger ice surface for
full ice drills and scrimmages and a family
friendly atmosphere filled with hockey history and
multiple spacious dressing rooms, in a warm and
comfortable arena with full seating. |
